"Bags" is the first single from Clairo's album "Immunity", released on August 2, 2019. The song was inspired by her first experiences with a girl. Clairo says her voice was "shitty" because she was sick when recording. She got the idea to write this song after her friend told her to write a song about her after listening to "Motion Sickness" by Phoebe Bridgers on repeat. This single features co-production from Rostam, a producer that was a member of Vampire Weekend until January 2016, who has also been given credits for co-producing the entire album. As well as this, it features drumming from Danielle Haim, a member of the band HAIM. Danielle also made several features on the recent Vampire Weekend album, "Father of the Bride".
