"Let Me Go" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne released as the third single from her self-titled fifth studio album released October 15th 2013. It features vocals from Nickelback frontman, and Lavigne's ex-husband, Chad Kroeger and was written by Lavigne and Kroeger along with David Hodges. The song was produced by Kroeger. "Let Me Go" was the first official single off Lavigne's self-titled fifth studio album after the release of two promotional singles "Here's to Never Growing Up" and "Rock N Roll". Lavigne described it as a piano ballad and one of her favorite songs off Avril Lavigne. "Let Me Go" is a power ballad, which takes influence from soft rock and alternative rock, that was produced by Kroeger, also providing guest vocals. Its instrumentation features a piano, a string section, an acoustic drum kit, and electric guitars and bass.
