The Chemical Brothers - Galvanize
Don t hold back!
Cuz you woke up in the mornin with initiative to move so I ll make it harder.
Don t hold back!
Cuz you think about it so many people do to be cool and look smarter.
Don t hold back!
And you shouldn t even care about those losers in the air and the crooked stares.
Dont hold back!
Cuz there s a party over here, so you might as well be here where the people care.
Don t hold back!
The world ... (they re holding back) ... the time has come to..
The world ... (you re holding back) ... the time has come to..
The world ... (it s holding back) ... the time has come to..
To galvanize!
Come on, come on, come on!
(Second verse)
Don t hold back!
If you think about it too much you might stumble, trip up, fall on your face.
Don t hold back!
Don t you think its time you get up, crunch time like a sit up, the monkey pace.
Don t hold back!
Put apprehension on the back burner, let it sit, dont even get it lit.
Dont hold back!
Get involved with the jam don t be a prick, hot chick, be a pig.
Dont hold back!
The world ... (they re holding back) ... the time has come to..
The world ... (you re holding back) ... the time has come to..
The world ... (it s holding back) ... the time has come to..
To galvanize!
Come on, come on, come on!
(Ooooooooooooooooooh...)
(Ooooooooooooooooooh.....)
World, the time has come to ... push the button
World, the time has come to ... push the button
World, the time has come to ... push the button
World ..
My finger is on the button ...
My finger is on the button ...
My finger is on the button ...
"Push the button"
(Oooooooooooooooooh...)
The time has come to ...
(Oooooooooooooooooh...)
GALVANIZE!
The time has come to ...
Galvanize !
Galvanize !
Galvanize !
"Galvanize" is the first single from The Chemical Brothers' 2005 album Push the Button. It was released a week before the album's release and peaked at #3 in the UK charts (see 2005 in music). It won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in February 2006. That same month, an Anheuser-Busch television commercial for Budweiser Select featured "Galvanize". The song also started appearing in NBC's Sunday Night Football coverage in 2008. The track features a distinct Moroccan string sample from Najat Aatabou's song Just Tell Me The Truth. The track also features rapping by Q-Tip (formerly of A Tribe Called Quest). According to the Galvanize Songfacts, he recorded his vocals with a golden microphone. This song is notable for being featured in the 2024 video-game movie "Sonic The Hedgehog Three", in a scene where Jim Carrey, who plays two characters dances as he attempts to avoid lasers.
