“hollow” is an emo-inspired heartbreak song that was initially teased by poorstacy a few days prior to the March 2019 release on Instagram Live. It was then later added in September 2019 to poorstacy’s EP i don’t care. The cover art for the track is an edited still frame of Johnny Depp’s character, Victor van Dort, from Tim Burton’s 2005 movie Corpse Bride. The still frame was taken at 15:43, near the beginning of the hour-long movie, during a scene in which Victor is trying to teach himself how to propose to Victoria Everglot—a girl that he doesn’t love and is being forced into caring for through arranged marriage. This still frame was then edited by poorstacy to include two of his face tattoos – “ANTIVALLEY” written under his eye and “3” on the corner of his eye. On the track itself, poorstacy looks at how he despises the fact that he is constantly heartbroken, but that he is also acutely aware that he is causing himself all of the heartbreak. He also discusses his lack of motivation through how he feels nothing he ever does helps. Everything that he has tried doesn’t work anymore, like drugs, or has never worked, like trying to fake a smile.
