“Forget” is the fifth track on Marina and the Diamonds' third studio album, Froot. It was completely written by Marina herself. The track premiered on Nylon on March 2nd, 2015, and it was digitally released as the fifth “Froot of the Month” on March 3rd, 2015. On her official website, Marina posted the chords to the song. The music video was directed by Markus Lundqvist and it was released on Marina’s YouTube channel on March 4th, 2015. In a track-by-track interview about FROOT, Marina said this about “Forget”: "It is one of my favorites. It’s pretty much the only chorus I’ve ever written that has only one word in it. I wrote that when I was extremely hungover the day after a Brit Awards party. It kind of encapsulates the mood of the whole record though, ‘cause it’s very much taking a look at my life from a birds-eye view."
