Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American

I'm not alone cause the tv's on yeah.
I'm not crazy cause I take the right pills everyday.
And rest, clean your conscious, clear your thoughts with speyside with your grain.
Clean your conscious, clear your thoughts with speyside.

Salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt.
Our hearts littering the topsoil.
Tune in and we can get the last call.
Our lives, our coal.

Salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt.
Our hearts littering the topsoil.
Sign up it's the picket line or the parade.
Our lives.

Sign up it's the picket line or the parade, our lives.

(I bled the) greed from my arm.
Won't they give it a rest now?

Salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt.
Our hearts littering the topsoil.
Tune in and we can get the last call.

Salt, sweat, sugar on the asphalt, our hearts littering the topsoil.
Sign up it's the picket line or the parade.

"Bleed American" is the first track on Jimmy Eat World's album Bleed American (retitled Jimmy Eat World). The song was originally titled "Bleed American", but similar to the name change of the album after the September 11 attacks, the song was retitled "Salt Sweat Sugar" after the first line in the song's chorus. The music video features the band playing on a rooftop while being watched by some sort of a CCTV helicopter. "Bleed American" was featured in the film National Lampoon's Van Wilder, and in the game Guitar Hero 5. Charts: U.S. Billboard Modern Rock Tracks- 18 UK Singles Chart - 60
