"Heart of the City (Ain't No Love)" was the third of four songs produced by Chicago-native Kanye West for Jay-Z's landmark 2001 album The Blueprint. It samples the Bobby Bland cover of "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City," originally released in 1974. This was Kanye's "big break" in the industry, propelling him to relative stardom as a producer, though he ultimately had ambitions to be an artist on his own one day.
