Demi Lovato - You Don't Do It For Me Anymore

[Verse 1]
I see the future without you
The hell was I doing in the past?
Now that I've learned all about you
A love just like ours wouldn't last

[Pre-Chorus]
I won't fall for your games
So don't hate me when I say

[Chorus]
That you
Don't do it for me anymore
No, you
Don't do it for me anymore

[Verse 2]
Money won't pay for your problems
You gotta fix them yourself
Vices and pity won't solve 'em
Stop feeling bad for yourself

[Pre-Chorus]
I won't fall for your games
So don't hate me when I say

[Chorus]
That you
Don't do it for me anymore
No, you
Don't do it for me anymore

[Bridge]
I'm sorry for honesty, I could not bear
To lie to you, to lie with you
I'm sorry for honesty, I'm well aware
I lie to you when I lie with you

[Chorus (Extended)]
You
Don't do it for me anymore
No, you
Don't do it for me, don't do it for me
You
Don't do it for me anymore
No, you
Don't do it for me anymore

Demi Lovato confirmed "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore" by releasing the incomplete tracklist along with the album pre-order and the release of the title track. On September 8, 2017, they released the song as a promo single. Although the ballad can be interpreted as a breakup song, Demi said that to them the lyrics cover a topic they have been very vocal about after recovery: drugs and alcohol. As explained in an interview with Next Radio, Demi is breaking up with their old self, their addiction doesn’t do it for them anymore. Demi: "Everyone relates to this song differently, and that's the beauty of music. You're allowed to connect with a song in the way that you choose. For some people this song is about the end of a relationship, but for me, it's a goodbye letter to my old self and some of my destructive behaviors. So it's deeply personal."
