Dayglow - December

[Verse 1]
You said you've got so much left to do
But instead, you're just pacing 'round the room
'Cause what else is someone supposed to do
When yourself doesn't feel like it used to?

[Pre-Chorus]
All these changes don't have to get so strange

[Chorus]
So my friend, you just remember
That every year has its December
There's gonna be days that you just pass right on through
But that's what seasons do, they change

[Verse 2]
So, what now?
You've been talking like a palindrome
And somehow still don't know which way the story goes
But turns out, no one either seems to really know
Man, I've found sometimes I've just got to let things go

[Pre-Chorus]
Because changes are what make up the time, yeah
Alright
[Chorus]
So my friend, you just remember
That every year has its December
There's gonna be days that you just want something new
But that's what seasons do, they change

[Instrumental Bridge]

[Chorus]
So my friend, you just remember
That every year has its December
There's gonna be days when you don't feel like you
But that's what seasons do, they change

"December" is the fourth track from Dayglow's album "Harmony House". Much of the album is about growing up and coping with change; after "Fuzzybrain", he left university and decided to fully commit to being a musician. During this time he found a collection of poetry in his family’s house that had been a favorite of his great-grandmother’s. A line of verse there became a lyric on “December,” his favorite song on the album: “So my friend, just remember every year has a December.”
