Ariana Grande - 7 rings
[Verse 1]
Yeah, breakfast at Tiffany's and bottles of bubbles
Girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble
Lashes and diamonds, ATM machines
Buy myself all of my favorite things (Yeah)
Been through some bad shit, I should be a sad bitch
Who woulda thought it'd turn me to a savage?
Rather be tied up with calls and not strings
Write my own checks like I write what I sing, yeah (Yeah)
[Pre-Chorus]
My wrist, stop watchin', my neck is flossy
Make big deposits, my gloss is poppin'
You like my hair? Gee, thanks, just bought it
I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it (Yeah)
[Chorus]
I want it, I got it, I want it, I got it
I want it, I got it, I want it, I got it
You like my hair? Gee, thanks, just bought it
I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it (Yep)
[Verse 2]
Wearing a ring, but ain't gon' be no "Mrs."
Bought matching diamonds for six of my bitches
I'd rather spoil all my friends with my riches
Think retail therapy my new addiction
Whoever said money can't solve your problems
Must not have had enough money to solve 'em
They say, "Which one?" I say, "Nah, I want all of 'em"
Happiness is the same price as red-bottoms
"7 rings" is the second single from Ariana Grande's fifth studio album, thank u next. It's a trap, R&B and rap song that runs for 3 mins. It features a heavy bass and sees Grande discuss "how global success has allowed her to enjoy the finer things". Billboard magazine noted it's "the most hip-hop-leaning song Grande has released in the post-Sweetener era yet, with Grande almost rapping the song's verses". Grande described the song as a "friendship anthem" that "evolves" from previous single "thank u, next", while embracing a new chapter. She opens up about how her break-up with Pete Davidson led her to "treating her friends instead". "7 rings" debuted at number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100, earning Grande her second number one single (and second number one debut). It spent eight non-consecutive weeks atop the chart and 33 weeks overall. "7 rings" was ranked in Billboard's decade-end chart of its best-performing tracks throughout the 2010s decade. It broke several streams records upon release, and reached massive commercial success overseas; topping charts in 23 countries including Australia, Finland, Hungary, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States; as well as reaching the top ten in 10 countries. "7 rings" was the fifth best-selling song for 2019 worldwide, with over 13.3 million units and is one of the best-selling songs in digital history.
