Ballad is narration of poem or song in short verses. So Tupac’s starting off the hook by saying he’s about to narrate a song of a dead man. He was planning to move up the ranks and become the new leader of his gang or click, which he likens to a mob or crime family. He got his revenge but now he can’t go back to who he was and can’t stay where he’s at. The lines he crossed aren’t there anymore and he’s still completely lost, like a blind man, never to return to his old self.
