Kevin Toney was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan
According to Wikipedia, K.Toney received a B.A from Howard University while he was performing with a jazz-fusion group the Blackbyrds. He showcased his musical versatility as a conductor and arranger for top performing artists including: James Ingram, Patti Austin, Isaac Hayes, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Seal, Annie Lennox, Ray Charles, Ray Parker Jr, Pink, Kenny Burrel, Nancy Wilson, O.C. Smith, to name a few. According to Kevin Toney's web site, his "Strut" cd was used by the 2002 Winter Olympic committee as part of its "official music" alongside material by Sir Paul McCartney, Alicia Keys, and Shakira.
