The Eraser - Thom Yorke

The Eraser

The Eraser
electronic alternative experimental indie electronica

"The Eraser" is a song by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, and the first track on his 2006 album of the same name. The piano chords heard throughout the song were sampled from a recording Yorke made of Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood. The song has been remixed by Ellen Allien and Stretch'n'Vern. Yorke linked from the band's blog Dead Air Space to a video of clubgoers dancing to the latter mix during a set by DJ Sasha. In 2007, the newly-formed American hip-hop supergroup Child Rebel Soldier, consisting of Lupe Fiasco, Pharrell and Kanye West, sampled parts of the chorus and the piano loops of "The Eraser" for their debut single "Us Placers" (produced by Lupe Fiasco) released on Kanye's official mixtape, Can't Tell Me Nothing.

Thomas Edward Yorke (born 7 October, 1968 in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, England) is best known as the lead singer of the English alternative rock band Radiohead. He has released two solo albums, "The Eraser" (2006) and "Tomorrow's Modern Boxes" (2014) and is also the frontman for the supergroup Atoms for Peace. He mainly plays electric guitar, acoustic guitar and piano, but has also played drums and bass guitar (notably during the Kid A and Amnesiac Radiohead sessions). Show more ...

The Eraser - Thom Yorke

Please excuse me but I got to ask
Are you only being nice
Because you want something
My fairy tale arrow pierces
Be careful how you respond
'Cause you'd not end up in this song
I never gave you an encouragement
And it's doing me in
Doing me in
Doing me in
Doing me in

The more you try to erase me
The more, the more
The more that I appear
Oh the more, the more
The more you try the eraser
The more, the more
The more that you appear

You know the answer so why do you ask
I am only being nice
Because I want someone, something
You're like a kitten with a ball of yarn
And it's doing me in
Doing me in
Doing me in
Doing me in

The more you try to erase me
The more, the more
The more that I appear
Oh the more, the more
The more I try to erase you
The more, the more
The more that you appear
No, you're wrong, you're wrong
You're wrong, you're wrong
You're wrong, you're wrong
You're wrong
