Teardrop - Massive Attack

Teardrop

Mezzanine
trip-hop chillout electronic downtempo electronica

Teardrop is a song by Massive Attack which was first released on their 1998 album Mezzanine. It was released as a single on April 21, 1998. The song became another UK hit for the group, peaking at number 10 on the UK singles chart, and later becoming well-known as the theme for US television series House MD. The original version of the song features vocals by Elizabeth Fraser (of the Cocteau Twins). Fraser's vocal part was recorded just after she was given the news that Jeff Buckley, with whom she had a close personal relationship, was missing in the Wolf River of Memphis, Tennessee. The song's music video featured a fetus in the womb, lip-syncing the song. It was directed by Walter Stern. Instrumental portions of the song were used in the opening theme for the U.S. TV series House.

Massive Attack are a trip-hop group which formed in Bristol, England in 1988. The group currently consists of Robert "3D" Del Naja and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall. Third member Andy "Mushroom" Vowles left the group in 1999. The band has released five studio albums: "Blue Lines" (1991), "Protection" (1994), "Mezzanine" (1998), "100th Window" (2003), and "Heligoland" (2010). Teardrop - Massive Attack

Love, love is a verb,
Love is a doing word,
Fearless on my breath.
Gentle impulsion,
Shakes me, makes me lighter,
Fearless on my breath.
Teardrop on the fire,
Fearless on my breath.

Night, night after day,
Black flowers blossom,
Fearless on my breath.
Black flowers blossom,
Fearless on my breath,
Teardrop on the fire,
Fearless on my...

Water is my eye,
Most faithful mirror.
Fearless on my breath,
Teardrop on the fire,
I've a confession.
Fearless on my breath,
Most faithful mirror,
Fearless on my breath,
Teardrop on the fire,
Fearless on my breath.

You're stumbling a little,
You're stumbling a little.
