"Thnks fr th Mmrs" (a disemvoweling of "thanks for the memories") is a song by American rock band Fall Out Boy released on March 27, 2007 as the second single from their third studio album, Infinity on High. With music composed by lead vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump and the lyrics penned by bassist Pete Wentz, the song was one of the two tracks produced by Babyface for the album.[1] "Thnks fr th Mmrs" was a commercial success, reaching No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, and became the band's highest charting and most popular single in Australia at No. 3 on the ARIA charts. It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of 500,000 units, and Platinum in Australia for shipments of 70,000 copies. The hit single reached the two-million sales mark week ending December 27, 2009 in the US,[2] becoming another two-million seller for the band, along the lines of their earlier single "Sugar, We're Goin Down" from their previous 2005 album From Under the Cork Tree. As of February 2014 it has sold 3,527,000 copies.[citation needed] "Thnks fr th Mmrs" became a staple at the band's concerts, interview performances and radio, being one of the band's most recognised singles.[3]

Fall Out Boy is a band formed in 2001 in Glenview, Illinois after good friends Joe Trohman and Pete Wentz met high schooler Patrick Stump. Stump originally auditioned as a drummer, but soon became the lead singer. The following year, the band debuted with a self-released demo and followed it up with the May 28, 2002 release of Split EP, which featured Project Rocket, on Uprising Records. The group released a mini-LP, Evening Out With Your Girlfriend, also on Uprising Records, in 2003. Show more ...

Thnks fr th Mmrs - Fall Out Boy

[Verse 1]
I'm gonna make it bend and break,
(It sent you to me without wings)
Say a prayer, but let the good times roll,
In case God doesn't show
(Let the good times roll, let the good times roll)
And I want these words to make things right,
But it's the wrongs that make the words come to life.
"Who does he think he is?"
If that's the worst you've got better put your fingers back to the keys.

[Chorus]
One night and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Even though they weren't so great.
He tastes like you only sweeter.
One night yeah, and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the memories,
See he tastes like you only sweeter.

[Verse 2]
I'm looking forward to the future,
But my eyesight is going bad.
And this crystal ball
It's always cloudy except for (except for),
When you look into the past (look into the past),
One night stand (one night stand)
One night stand!

[Chorus]
One night and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Even though they weren't so great.
He tastes like you only sweeter.
One night yeah, and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the memories,
See he tastes like you only sweeter.

[Hook]
They say I only think in the form of crunching numbers
In hotel rooms, collecting page six lovers.
Get me out of my mind,
Gets you out of those clothes.
I'm a liner away from
Getting you into the mood.

[Bridge]
One night and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Even though they weren't so great.
He tastes like you only sweeter.
One night yeah, and one more time,
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the memories,
See he tastes like you only sweeter.

[Outro]
One night and one more time,
(One more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories,
Even though they weren't so great.
He tastes like you only sweeter.
One night yeah, and one more time,
(One more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories,
Thanks for the memories,
See he tastes like you only sweeter.
