"Alpha Dog" is Fall Out Boy's first single from their greatest hits album Believers Never Die: Greatest Hits. It first appeared as a demo on Welcome to the New Administration as "ALPHAdog and OMEGAlomaniac". The song, re-recorded in full, was posted for streaming on the band's official website on October 12, 2009.[1] The official release date of the single was 26 October 2009, while the Greatest Hits album the song resides upon will be released worldwide November 16 and 17, 2009.[citation needed] The music video for "Alpha Dog" was released on the band's MySpace on November 10, 2009. It was a montage of previous music videos and live concert footage.


Fall Out Boy is a band formed in 2001 in Glenview, Illinois after good friends Joe Trohman and Pete Wentz met high schooler Patrick Stump. Stump originally auditioned as a drummer, but soon became the lead singer. The following year, the band debuted with a self-released demo and followed it up with the May 28, 2002 release of Split EP, which featured Project Rocket, on Uprising Records.
