"Mr. Vain" is a song by German Eurodance group Culture Beat. It was released in April 1993 as the lead single from the album Serenity. The song achieved huge success worldwide, reaching number-one in Australia, Austria, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. It also spent ten weeks at number-one on the RPM Dance chart in Canada. Written by Steven Levis, Nosie Katzmann and Jay Supreme and produced by Torsten Fenslau and Peter Zweier, Mr. Vain was 1993's best-selling single across Europe. Typical of the Eurodance style of the time, the song first broke in Germany before breaking more widely through the summer, eventually topping the chart in twelve countries. It reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Gold disc. "Mr. Vain" also peaked at number two for two weeks on the American Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs. Tania Evans is the female singer in Mr. Vain, and the rapper is Jay Supreme. It first entered the charts in the United Kingdom in late July 1993 at number 24 climbing to number one for the week ending 28 August 1993, at times it was selling twice as much its nearest challenger It Keeps Rainin' by Bitty McLean during its 4 week reign at the top. It spent a total of 15 weeks on the chart and was the 9th biggest selling single in Britain in 1993. It is notable in the United Kingdom as it was the first number one single not to be available as a 7" since the 1950s and heralded the demise of the 7" single as a mass market medium.

Call him Mr. Raider call him Mr. Wrong
Call him Mr. Vain
Call him Mr. Raider call him Mr. Wrong
Call him Mr. Vain
He'd say: I know what I want
And I want it now
I want you cause I'm Mr. Vain
I know what I want and I want it now
I want you cause I'm Mr. Vain
Call me Mr. Raider call me Mr. Wrong
Call me insance call me Mr. Vain
Call me what you like
As long as you call me time and again
Fell the presence of the aura
Of the man none to compare
Loveless dying
For a just to touch a hand
Or a moment to share
Can't deny the urge that makes them
Want to lose themselves to the debonair one
Hold me back the simple fact is
That I'm all that and I'm always near
One s*** can't perplex me now
You know who'raw
As if you didn't know before
I know what I want and I want it now
I want you then I want a little more
Call him Mr. Raider call him Mr. Wrong
Call him Mr. Vain
Call him Mr. Raider call him Mr. Wrong
Call him Mr. Vain
He'd say: I know what I want
And I want it now
I want you cause I'm Mr. Vain
I know what I want and I want it now
I want you cause I'm Mr. Vain
Girls are all over the world
They hope and pray and die for man
Like me cause I'm the one
Begotten son that breaks the mold
Get a look at male epitome
Style has never seen
That makes you want to grab and hold
And squeeze real tight
Whose gonna be the one to save
You from yourself
When you wanna take a bite
Please oh baby please
You beg you want to stay
You got to get some caught
Up in the charm that I laid on thick
And now there's nowhere
To run on the hook of my line
Yeah I keep many females
Longing for a chance to win my heart
With s** and plenty
